Islamabad: A U.S. congressional delegation has said that the strong relationship between U.S. President Donald Trump and Pakistan's leadership is producing positive outcomes, highlighting growing momentum in bilateral ties between the two countries.
The delegation, comprising Congressman Ryan Zinke and Representative Michael Baumgartner, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad. During the meeting, the visiting lawmakers praised Pakistan's pivotal role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the delegation at a reception held in their honor, describing the visit as a positive step toward strengthening Pakistan–U.S. relations.
The Prime Minister also conveyed his best wishes to President Donald Trump and acknowledged his "bold and decisive" diplomatic intervention in helping secure a ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to deepening cooperation with the United States, saying both countries are eager to expand collaboration in key sectors, including trade, agriculture, information technology (IT), and energy.
The meeting also included discussions on bilateral relations, regional security, economic partnership, and other issues of mutual interest, with both sides expressing their commitment to further enhancing cooperation.
