Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has urged students protesting over the alleged examination paper leak in India to end their demonstrations and return home.
In a statement shared on social media, Salman Khan said that the education and safety of students remain the government's top priority and that there is no need for them to worry. He added that the Prime Minister has already made his position clear on the issue and expressed confidence that those responsible for the paper leak would face strict legal action.
Salman Khan also appealed to renowned Ladakh-based social activist Sonam Wangchuk to avoid escalating the protest and end his hunger strike. He requested Wangchuk to have a meal and even offered to send food from his own home. The actor added that if necessary, the issue could be raised again in the future.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actresses Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan expressed support for the protesting students.
Ananya Panday said that the younger generation is no longer willing to accept injustice as normal and that students are simply demanding their rights and fair treatment.
Sara Ali Khan also backed the students, saying they represent the country's future and that their determination deserves appreciation. She expressed hope that the government would deliver justice to the students at the earliest.
