Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir on Friday inaugurated the Sky47 Data Center “Karakoram One” in Islamabad, marking the launch of a project aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s cloud computing, data hosting, and digital services infrastructure.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the Sky47 project would play a significant role in enhancing Pakistan’s national cybersecurity and advancing the country’s digital capabilities.
He described projects such as Sky47 as vital to Pakistan’s digital future, emphasizing that investment in modern technology is essential for sustainable national development.
The prime minister said that historic achievements become possible when challenges are met with determination, hope, and unity. He also paid tribute to Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership, saying that no national objective is beyond reach when the country works together.
The project is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s digital infrastructure by expanding data storage, cloud services, and technology capacity for both the public and private sectors.
