Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has responded to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mian Nawaz Sharif's recent remarks, saying, "Mian Sahib, please don't take it personally. Whether it is Kashmore or Kashmir, the people of both regions will not allow anyone to snatch away their rights."
In his video message, Bilawal Bhutto said that Kashmir and Kashmore, as well as Mirpur and Mirpur Khas, are not only similar in name but also share the same spirit, dignity, and determination to protect their rights. He added that the people of these regions would never allow anyone to politically occupy or undermine their democratic rights.
Bilawal's statement came days after Nawaz Sharif, while addressing an election rally in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, remarked, "Don't confuse Kashmir with Kashmore. This is Mirpur, not Mirpur Khas. Bilawal Barkhurdar, don't take it the wrong way. There should be political banter in politics, but it should not turn into conflict."
Responding to those remarks, Bilawal claimed that the people of Kashmore and Kashmir had rejected the PML-N in previous elections, adding that the party had also suffered defeats in Mirpur (Azad Kashmir) and Mirpur Khas in the past.
The PPP chairman further claimed that the people would repeat their verdict in the July 27 Azad Kashmir elections, saying, "Mian Sahib, please don't take it personally. On July 27, the Arrow will hunt the Lion in Kashmir." The "Arrow" is the election symbol of the PPP, while the "Lion" represents the PML-N.
Bilawal concluded by saying that the people would use the power of their vote to defend their rights and would not allow any political party to seize the public mandate in the name of political dominance.
