Muzaffarabad: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has said that the march towards Muzaffarabad during the elections was part of a well-planned conspiracy aimed at creating widespread unrest, violence, and instability in the region.
In a statement, Rathore said that the miscreants had been planning the bloodshed of innocent Kashmiris for several weeks. He alleged that the armed groups possess modern weapons and have access to key locations from where they target security forces.
The Prime Minister urged the public to stay away from such elements, claiming that they use civilians as human shields, putting innocent lives at serious risk.
Meanwhile, according to Azad Kashmir Police, two police officers were injured after armed members of the banned Awami Action Committee opened fire.
Sources also reported that clashes during the march of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee towards Rawalakot resulted in multiple fatalities and several injuries. However, officials have yet to confirm the exact number of casualties.
