Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that India's involvement in terrorist activities in Pakistan is "absolutely evident," while the Afghan interim government has failed to prevent terrorists from operating.
Addressing participants of the Balochistan National Workshop, the prime minister said Balochistan is Pakistan's largest province by area and the smallest by population. He noted that the province's leadership has always placed national interests above personal considerations and that the people of Balochistan played a vital role in the creation of Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif said that nearly 90,000 Pakistanis have sacrificed their lives in the country's war against terrorism. Referring to the recent killing of a sessions judge in Mastung, he said the sacrifices of the people of Balochistan would not go in vain.
The prime minister stated that India's role in terrorist attacks inside Pakistan is clearly visible, adding that the Afghan interim government has completely failed to stop terrorist groups. He said Pakistan is also making efforts to convince the neighboring country to take effective action against terrorism.
He further said that terrorism had once been almost eradicated from the country but returned as part of a well-organized conspiracy. He stressed that the entire nation must unite to defeat terrorism and move Pakistan forward on the path of peace, stability, and development.
The prime minister also said Pakistan has achieved significant successes in recent months. He praised the efforts of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, saying Pakistan's diplomacy for regional peace is being widely appreciated by the international community.
