Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has refused to accept the Azad Kashmir elections as free and fair, terming them rigged. Addressing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), he said, “Your reverse counting has begun.”
In a video message, Bilawal Bhutto announced a public rally in District Bagh, saying that despite alleged rigging, the people had expressed confidence in the PPP and secured the party nine seats.
He claimed that seats in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad were “snatched” from the PPP, but said the party would continue its constitutional and democratic struggle to protect its mandate. Bilawal stated, “The PPP neither loses courage, nor leaves the field, nor compromises on the rights of the people.”
Meanwhile, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon also raised objections over the AJK elections, saying that the alleged rigging seen in the 2024 general elections was repeated in Azad Kashmir as well. He claimed that the federal and Punjab governments jointly adopted a strategy to defeat the PPP, which he described as “Form 47 Plus.”
It is worth noting that the PML-N has not yet issued any official response to these allegations
