Muzaffarabad: The second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections has concluded, with unofficial and provisional results showing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) emerging as the dominant party.
According to the results received so far, PML-N has won 13 seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has secured 5 seats.
Polling was held for 8 constituencies in the Muzaffarabad Division and 12 refugee constituencies. However, voting in LA-27 was postponed after election staff and polling materials could not reach the area due to bad weather and landslides, affecting all 196 polling stations.
Among the prominent winners from PML-N are Shah Ghulam Qadir, Raja Farooq Haider, Mustafa Bashir Abbasi, Nasir Hussain Dar, Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail, Muhammad Ahsan Raza, Maryam Javed, Zeeshan Ali, Raja Muhammad Siddique, Muhammad Amir Shah, Syed Shaukat Ali Shah, Muhammad Yaseen Lone, and Muhammad Ahmed Raza Qadri.
PPP's successful candidates include Sardar Mukhtar Khan, Mian Abdul Waheed, Diwan Ali Khan Qamar Chughtai, Amir Abdul Ghaffar, and Abdul Majid Khan.
The Election Commission is continuing the process of compiling official results, while the provisional outcome indicates a clear electoral advantage for PML-N in the second phase of the AJK elections.
