Karachi: Two people, including a lawyer, were killed in a firing incident near Nomania Mosque in Sector 10, North Karachi.
According to police, Muhammad Shakeel, son of Haji Muhammad Majeed, and a man named Haroon were seriously injured in the shooting. Both were initially shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for first aid; however, later their families took them to a private hospital, where both died during treatment.
Police said the deceased Muhammad Shakeel was an advocate of the Sindh High Court and a member of the Sindh Bar Council, while the other victim, Haroon, was reportedly involved in the property business.
Following the incident, police and the Crime Scene Unit reached the location and collected evidence from the site.
Police stated that initial information suggests the possibility that both individuals were targeted and killed. CCTV footage and other technical evidence are being obtained.
Investigations have been launched from multiple angles to determine the motive behind the firing and to arrest the suspects, while information is also being gathered from eyewitnesses
